I Am Surrounded – Installation at BigArt 6, Hem, Zaandam, 2021

In 2021, I participated in BigArt 6 at HEM in Zaandam, where I presented my installation I Am Surrounded. BigArt is a platform for XL artworks and large-scale design objects, showcasing both established artists and emerging talents, providing space for large-scale expressions in a dynamic environment.

For this occasion, I developed I Am Surrounded as an exploration of my own inner landscape and how it relates to the world around me. The work examines the tension between personal introspection and the external influences that shape our identity. Through this installation, I aimed to invite the viewer to reflect on the relationship between isolation, self-reflection, and the constant interaction with the outside world.

In 2021 nam ik deel aan BigArt 6 in het HEM in Zaandam, waar ik mijn installatie Ik ben omgeven presenteerde. BigArt is een platform dat XL kunstwerken en designobjecten toont van zowel gevestigde kunstenaars als opkomende talenten, en biedt ruimte voor grootschalige expressie in een dynamische omgeving.

Voor deze gelegenheid ontwikkelde ik Ik ben omgeven als een verkenning van mijn eigen innerlijke landschap, en hoe dit zich verhoudt tot de wereld om mij heen. Het werk onderzoekt de spanning tussen persoonlijke introspectie en de externe invloeden die onze identiteit vormen. Door de installatie wilde ik de toeschouwer uitnodigen om na te denken over de relatie tussen isolatie, zelfreflectie, en de constante wisselwerking met de buitenwereld.
